check your front forks is there oil on the forks
is there visible tread on your tires you only need it to be visible on a scooter
are your breaks good they need to be firm and should work when you pull the lever
lights if it is fitted with lights they all need to work
is there any play in the steering put it on its stand and see f you can move the forks about other than turn them
wheels should only turn not be wobbly
your exhaust shouldn't be too loud mot'd mine and have got an advisory on how loud it is
there is probably more but thats what i can remmember off the top of my head
on a 50 you dont need a speedo to pass mot

You dont need to check over everything, thats the idea of an mot somebody does it for you. Just check all the lights work, brakes work well and tyre tread.

The headstock bearings are a regular fail, but they do take a beat-in so its worth having them tightened or replaced yearly.
