all lights must be working, no pitting on the forks, the fork seals must not be leaking, tread should be visible over the whole tyre, if you have mirrors fitted they must not be cracked, brakes should be working fully with atleast 1.5mm? of pad left, exhaust shouldn't exceed 90decibels, rider controls (mostly throttle) shouldn't stick, brake levers you should be able to fit 4 fingers on there, should be safe to use on the road (no pointy objects or lances on it), petrol tank shouldn't leak, well nothing should leak, bearings on front and rear wheels should be in a servicible state. think thats it if anything is wrong or missing feel free to add.

    Is it really minor?

    Wow.
Mine failed on having less than 2mm left.
It had 5mm left when i checked mind.
MOT centre fucked me over for quite a few things too be honest.

report them to the dvla then....

if the brakes wernt up to scratch stopping wise they will say its down to the thickness of the pad. but its not actually what it fails on. its an advisory fix

make sure lights, exhaust are ok! Tyre tread needs to be visible on a 50cc bike!
