mopeds are exempt from the no plate light.... just a reflector rear light and brake light are required, and a mudguard that covers a certian percentage of the rear whel (nopn applicable wiht scooters really, but still)
I got Renthals on my bike, and need to mot it soon! Can i mot it with the renthals on or do i have to change back to stock? And whats there views on clocks and switches can they be custom? Thanks.
mine pass with renthals with all switches lights horn ect ect working ,,had a koso clock but was not wired up but still passed bob tomes mot in fiinchly central
cheers for pointing out mot tersters handing out illegal mot's.... numberplate light runs off the rear light power/earth so just piggyback the positive from the rear light (NOT the break light) wire a bulb wiht some battery's... where do people get these ideas? your bike has a GENERATOR MADE TO MAKE POWER FOR LIGHTS
dodgy mot's are deffo nto worth it on a bike surely if a bike has got fully working & secure renthal set up with say a koso speedo it'd pass a legal mot?
your bike needs (clock wise) a BACKLIT speedo, a warning light for your indicators (minimum) and an ODOMETER readout. you need to have a switch for your indicators (not headlights, they can be wired on if its a 50) or if its not a moped you need 3 stage lighting. you also need a horn switch, every switch HAS to be accesible with your thumb/a finger while holding the bars. the bars have to be secure obviously but other than that you can use what you like.
what about speedo cable ? Do i need 1 on the bike for m.o.t as mines fully disconected (including the speedo drive on the wheel) cheers
its not checked, but if they spot a missing cable then your odometer is not recording the vehicle mialage = illegal.. wether it is a fail or not is a grey area.. why the fuck havent you got a speedo is a better question? like i said they cant/dont check the working of the speedo, altho legally you do have to have a speedo and it has to record mialage, so put the cable on.
Does anyone know if 50ccs require front mudguards for MOTs? Iv just done up my lil bros 50 for MOT and it s missing a front mudguard so want to know before i take it whether i need to get one or not. Id have thought it would but then again typhoons dont have one? Much appreciated if anyone knows
hey pal i have a speed fight2 n and i looked through papers it had an adviersy on poor condition farings and no mirrors fitted why would that be its only a 50cc lol also i have a runner 125 do the take any faring off when doing mot ??
shouldnt have had an advise on no mirrors!! not required for the test. nothing should be removed by the tester on an MOT.
rear reflectors are a nightmare on tests, many use number plate ones but the reflector should be flat to the rear or vertical and central to the vehicle. also brake pads should be either 1.5mm non sintered or 1mm sintered.
no idea, if they are loose and hanging off or have sharp, protruding edges then yes to the advise. obviously it's hard for me to say as another tester because i havnt seen it and its to the testers own discretion as to pass, advise or fail.
hey am about to get my nrg MOTed one of the front forks has a small amount of grease coming out on the back will it pass like this or is even a small amount unacceptable.
