more power = more acceleration shorter gears means more acceleration less top speed.. longer gears means more top end with less acceleration so basicly you need to gear up your bike (somthing like 18% nothing major) and increase power (pipe, cylinder) to retain your acceleration usually an iron 70 kit with the correct matching pipe with a gear up will mean the acceleration stays constant and you can pull the ratio of your gear up in increased speed... so if you add 12% gear up you get 12% increased top speed (power permitting) BUT you loose 12% of the power power vs load = acceleration and top speed
