right just recently the bike has been running sweet after fiddling with the carb!! problem is over the last few days the bike has developed a raspy/rattly sound however i have just noticed the lower bolt in exhaust bracket is loose (pm pipe) so this could be the cause but even if i wedge the bracket with hand the noise is still there... but tonight however i have come across some more serios problems just been racing my mate switched the bike off.. when i went to leave the bike felt a bit boggy pulled away and it was hardcore backfiring and bogging down so i pulled over to turn it off and it wouldnt even switch off. the ignition switch is working as the lights come on and off when you turn the key(and oil warning light) even tried my mates switch. when you turn the key off the engine changes note but dont turn off you can even rev it... i am thinking bogging/ backfiring is related to it not turning off as both the faults seem to come and go but together as soon as it starts backfiring i pull over try to switch it off but it just dont turn off... sorry for the long story just want to get the whole picture across its got to be an ignition fault i ruled out switch so what next???
problem has got a bit worst as the bike completly give up on the way to work lost spark altogeher... took a look at the stator and i couldnt see anything visably wrong....(would i if this was shot) my mates got a stator lying around so i will fit it tomorrow and let you know how i get on!
check the earth from the frame to engine is on properly that could cause the bike to pop and backfire
fixed the fault changed the stator and the bike now runs sweet and even switches off!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for the advise people
could well be a broken wire (green one on the 3 pin plug) but it could be lean to the point the heat on the piston was firing the mix a little.....check its deffo slightly rich at idle.. rich is better than lean
