How do you mod an airbox so it has the same performance as a open air filter?, yet still works good in all weather!

take it apart.. find the imput hole and enlarge to the same size as the venturi of the carb. the only restriction left will be where the air changes direction but this is livable.

the airbox is made for a 17mm carb so it wont make any difference really.

well, i have a 76 jet for a standard air box , then 78 for modded airbox. Take the sponge out, put it in some water and fairy then wrap it in the newspaper and let it absorb the petrol, the put it back in, good as new.!

i never put fuel on a filter as it makes it weak. bang some fairy on it and squidge it about.. then wash with water and repeat. its a sponge afterall. you dont need oil but it does help a little with keeping shit out. i dont use it personally unless its an exposed filter in a dusty enviroment. also if it gets opily after being dry you know the reeds are shagged without having to take them out.
