Hey Guys, In the near future me and my friend are going to be doing some engine work on our scoot(s) At the mo, my friends looking to buy an aerox, and I've got a minerlli air cooled engine to use, which ill drop into one of my frames. So in theory. we'll have two mineralli horizontal engines, one ac and one lc. We've decided on the setups were going to run, both almost the same, this is what we will be using, so please don't both reccomending us other kits etc thank you. Going for polini sport 70 kits (cast iron) 21mm delloroto carbs new clutches polini speed control kit (mainly for belt and rollers, and also to replace old parts, not necessarily for performance) I know ill be keeping a standard derestricted exhaust on the a/c engine, and on the lc either a gianelli reverse or a laser x pro, also standard air boxes. Please can people reccomend jetting for each engine. Also when putting a crank in the freezer to harden it, how liong does it need to be in there for? Also is it worth porting your crank case to match the abrrels, giving a bit better air flow? Thanks updated
ok 1st its a Dellorto carb... 2nd the rollers will be the only bit you wont use (they are always too heavy in the kits) 3rd The main objective to putting the crank in the freezer is to shrink it... makes it easier to fit...especially if you heat the centre of the main bearings as well!!!
lmao im gona be runnin polini 70cc kit dellorto 21mm carb gianelli reverse get a set of rollers or two clutch springs thats about it i think
1. Dave picked up on the fact you spelt Dellorto wrong 2. Its a case of trial and error with rollers, each rider is different weight etc, so roller weights will normally be different for each individual rider. 3. WTF are you going on about?
ok ok. im light as hell like 7 stone yeah also, im sure i read freezing the crank etc, makes them go in easier but also makes them stronger on this forum/.
yes you read right...but the primary reason is to freeze the crank to aid fitting... mine was in the freezer for about 3 weeks...but about a day would be enough
obviously wont get two sets of rollers in a variator i mean im gona buy a few sets to see what 1s work best for me
change of plan for the ac due to funds. getting a new vari and belt as mines preti nackered, and comes with 6g rollers, but ill buy some lighter getting a clutch, ive got clutch springs already which havnt been used. gona run a polini sport 70 probs, with standard carb, airbox and pipe, i was going to just rebuilt as a 50, but for £20 more i can get 70 so may aswel. please could anyone reccomend the size of a main jet id require for the standard carb and this 70kit, so basically it will be standard except 70kit pretty much. i know the standard jet is a 72 size, so theres your start point thanks
Price Plan. _________________ 70kit £62.95 Pm Tuning Rollers £4.50 Jets £1.25 (x3) _________________ Gasket set £6.99 Beedspeed Clutch £12.99 Cranks bearings and seals £10.99 Variator set £29.99 ________________ Total £132.16 Gasket set may not be needed, i am buying it for the bottom end bits like the crankcase gasket, reedblock gasket, and the tranny cover gasket, do i really need these or can i just use sealant? Variator set comes with a kevlar belt. 3 jets to experiemnt with. Any advice?
looks liek u need to add vat to most of them prices. pm tunings prices dont include VAT and £12.99 for a clucth is stupidly cheap
ok so vats an extra £12.46. and thats just a clutch off beedspeed...what clutch would you reccomend? (its just to replace the currecnt one due to wear) pm sell a ''adjustable race clutch'' for like £20 but a RACE clutch for 20 is proberly worse than a stock for 13
are you sure that the £12.99 isnt for a set of clutch spring and not a whole clutch. that price sounds way too cheap for a whole clutch have you got a link for the clutch?
http://beedspeed.com/automatic-clut....html?osCsid=e7dae7a420d74f1e7263229c7f2a6c69 and what jetting should i run, standard carb airbox and pipe, just 70kit? main jet stock is 72, is there a certain % increase? and if i put a pipe on would i still add the usual 5%? ta
ok, so basically id upjet by like 12% then work down, and if i use exhaust id add 10% and work down do you have to change the oil supply feed? and is that clutch anygood, got to be better than one thats done 7000miles no? ta
Jettings – for 70 kit, (standard jet 72) 5% - 76 6% - 76 7% - 77 8% - 78 9% - 78/79 10% - 79 11% - 80 12% - 81 13% - 81 14% - 82 15% - 83 yeahh
