ok guys, I know it's not a 50cc, but the theory should be the same for the 100cc....I just placed it here cos there are more readers and need an answer by monday....Mods can delete it if they feel it's a violation.

Ok the Question-the stock head has a "ring" on it.....whats the reason for it and can I machine it out? If I can, to what angle?

    Thanks, Dyl-do!

the ring is the squish band, its diameter depth and angle is dependant on the piston and the compression ratio required.

WHY? would you wana machine it out?

    it will drop the compresion?

STOP looking at stuff and THINKING you can make a difference, when it wont

READ or LEARN what is needed to make improvements, obviously trial and error helps BUT this is an old art

ok sweet, shot for the replies....

alex-Don't be an idiot about bashing me down! Why you think I asked about it first? I know that there are experienced guys on here who have the answer, thats why I asked....Instead of doing it and then posting a topic under
    "Machined head just won't work".....

But thanks! I know it would lower compression, but i thought that the ring would distort the butterfly effect in the cylinder. Guess it's good that I got the answer.
    Thanks, Dyl
