Well as some of you will have seen i got myself a 2000 piaggio typhoon and today started to strip it down and see what i had to work with. Well after pulling the engine out i found it was very very dirty and full of crud and oil so all's that was done today was engine strip, clean, rebuild heres the engine before found a peace of broken case so had to cemical metal it back together heres the engine after with a nice black spray job on the casings The carb was also very dirty (found it was a 17.5m dellorto not sure if they come standerd) heres before and after i also found this in the carb took it out thinking it was a restricter (was i right in thinking this) here after all the dirty work was done also gave the pipe a going over with wire brush and quick lick of paint only find left to do now in rear wheel as its in a real state well once the wheel is done tomorrow going to bolt it back in and more to the front of the bike to change the speedo cable as its not working also gunna have to chack dash lights as fule warning light isnt lighting up or the dash clock. Also gunna have a look at the forks due to them being seezed up any help on the best way to free them up
Good work man, looking toward to seeing this done. That brass plate isn't a restrictor, it directs air onto the emulsion tube/jet, but apparently with a sports exhasut it's best to remove it
UPDATE : well yesterday decided to start work on the front end and found the forks was stuck solid and was full of surface rust, after a bit of banding, jumping, hitting there free but very stiff so time for a rebuild on them here's them before a clean also thought i would give the brembo a quick clean thing was jet black in brake dust after i had put it all together i put it away as a frind turned up so after a few hours on the ps3 he was going home so i thought seeing as it was half 12 haha and gotta say for a standerd 50 its pritty quick topped out at 46mph on s flat road and i got that speed from my gps pics to prove haha
