Over the last week or so I have been trying to help a friend get his aerox running good, hes fitted an mhr barrel kir, 21mm carb and a hebo crank. Was he right in just putting the barrel on with the base gasket as it came with another 3 thin metal gaskets? The carb has a 68 main jet and 40 idle jet. When pulling off the revs will increase nice and then at about 10mph drop very sharply flinging you forward. Then they pick back up and do the same again, this problem then clears once this stage is passed. Does this sound like a roller problem? The clutch is standrad at the moment but fitted with yellow malossi springs ( a polinin one is on order)
the 3 base gaskets are to set the squish, do it (if you know how) saves your piston hitting the head and is essential - use the search, its been covered loads and should help. what 'mhr barrel kit'? is it the rep??? or anuva one?? sounds like transmission is the main problem though, is everything working correctly?? no knocking sounds, or mechanical faults that you can hear?? could even be the belt slipping
Its not a rep kit its a single ring ali one. How could I go about checking for fuel starvation? The plug is fine its a nice choc brown colour. I find it strange that the power drops 2 times, if it was one then it would be the rollers too heavy
check the weight of the rollers.. MANY people seem to think they can ignor this when making changes but these big power kits use WAY lighter rollers than you would think (think james is running sub 4g in his runner engine)
Had a few tweeks today; Turns out the fuel vacuum was connected to the oil inlet...DOH! The choke was installed incorrectly and constantly on Running alot better now but still not there. Fitted a polini 2 shoe clutch which has helped. Now to the next problem.. When at full throttle it pulls very well, but then if you shut off then open it back to full throttle it bogs down and even misfires with a nice bang- maybe even a flame Minor- there are 4.3g rollers in at the moment so I shall recomend to him to try some 3.?g COuld the ehxuast be causing any problems due to the barrel being as extreme as it is?
