Hi i Bought an mbk rocket 98, on new years day with the intention of using to practice wheelies. It came standard and was fairly good on the back wheel , nice runner Since then i have made quite a few mods.....pics coming very soon I first of all strated by fitting a leovince tt exhaust,i know these arent the most hi revving exhaust but it was cheap, with this i fitted the yellow clutch springs that came with it. I then bought a 70cc polini ac kit for it and applied it myself and a 17 .5mm aerox carb i was running it on standard airbox and it was alright, but i then fitted a koso filter and the bike wouldnt let me full throttle ,even when i had upjetted to a 98 main jet... so i took to my local ped tuner and he said that there was an air leak so he put a 150 jet in it. I ran this for about two miles and then petrol started pissing out everywhere , so i attacthed the old carb with a 93 main jet and now its running perfect...interesting hey, so from there Then came suspension... The new koso turbine air filter.. works pretty good and looks wkd when spinning I also fitted new front brake pads and bought a speed clutch 107mm,but it turns out my bike runs 105mm clutch so im gunna have to look into to getting that size clutch to fit my bell  so this is what it looked like then fitted blue handle bars using a tnt stem for an aerox fits beatifully and of course then a quick action throttle Now i had started making preperation for the handlebar conversion witch i ordered along with front and rear lights and air scoop i decided u was going to go for the black and annodised theme for my ped, fitted blue handle bars using a tnt stem for an aerox fits beatifully and of course then a quick action throttle,I used the original thottle on these before but the cable snapped so i thought for a few extra quid I would get the quick action throttle, the throttle was easy to fit but I am not good with wiring so i'll have to get a garage to setup the controls indicators and engine stop/start switch that come with the stage 6 throttle kit, really good part makes throttle alot more responsive. As you can see from the pictures i have sprayed the back black, I used a very very basic method , I just put a few layers of grey primer over the old panels and then a three layers of matt black, and then two coats of petrol resisant laquer. ummm!
went mad with the spray can and went for matt black with polini stickers here is me testing out the sound system i made myself
Im new here but i have a 1998 Rocket here aswell in Belgium The bike wasnt cleaned tho but a friend of mine took a photo with his proffesional cam afterall Pic from 2 weeks ago = Tell me what you gents think of it
Yeah its nose became abit more lighter blue after driving it for 14 years I live at the Belgium coast and when its windy there is sand everywhere
Im wondering what the cable with connector at the bottom of my bike is, i noticed it before but i have no clue what it is, the Rocket drives fine altho its battery is empty quick. ( might be because ive got a Xenon light 55W ).
put some aerox forks on her today!!!!Really cool and a straight fit which made me very happy MBK rocket 98 with aerox forks........
With a little clean up,re paint exhaust get another cover for the air intake "looks faded" and shes got all promise of being a beauty
Thx Bikerbeynard for the advice And your Rocket project looks awesome, definatly alot more tuned then mine ^^ Been a while since i posted but i had a Hebo vario, bigger fuel injector together with a sports filter installed this summer. I removed the airfilter 2 weeks ago as it gave me nothing but trouble. Ive got the original one fitted atm, but problem is when the bike has warmed up, accelerating from standing still, its stuttering... I will prolly have to adjust the carb, but im a noob with that hehe. Anyway awesome to see more people around that like the good ol Rocket
I ve got one in parts sitting in my garage! love that beast! Such a cool looking ped! Get some more pics
