manual choke setup

    I have a aerox 03 plate and it already had a manual choke but recently i changed it for a stage 6 one but the parts it goes into the carb i changed it like were the lead goes in you can twist and untwist it to tight or loose i didnt know what to have it on help please :D

    there should be a cable that comes out of it sort of like a throttle cable which goes to a lever. the stage6 lever isnt all that good though imo

    you dont 'set up' a choke. you open the choke to let more fuel in to help with coldstarting and then close it again once the engine is up to running temp.

    ye ive changed the handlebar one to a stage 6 one but there was that metal thing coming of the choke were the end of the cable goes into with a twist part at then end of it like your would see on a push bike brake or something similar and i twisted it different to what it was at first

    my bike started bogging today i dont know why on acceraltion :( ? that is it i think o i thought it edits the settings thats good then :D

    nah mate the adjuster is just to tighten up the little bit of slack in the cable outer if you cut it a couple mm out

    it was bogging when you screwed it out because it was pulling on the choke and making your bike run like the choke was on = too much fuel

    if your cable is the right slackness and the right length you shouldnt need to play about with the screw at all. try this...screw it all the way in and if it doesnt cold start properly THEN adjust it mate.

    if it aint broke dont fix it :good:

    i dont know if thats why it bogs though i fitted this agise ago and was fine runs in cold weather but i loose more petrol than before ill have a fiddle with it tomorrow this just randomly happened today bike kept bogging when it gets hot i think :/ ?
