malossi variator torque spring do i fit it or not

    just fitted a malossi multivar to my standard piaggio de restricted zip and changed the rollers from 7.5 to 6 gram now it wont pull away unless you rev the hell out of it should i have left the standard spring in instead of the uprated white one what came with the kit

    If your engine is std then fit std parts, that's how it was designed to run and work best.

    you only need to fit the spring if your running a mid/high end 70 to help prevent the drive belt from slipping, if fitted you need to go even lighter on the rollers. Because your still running a 50cc cylinder I wouldn't bother fitting the spring

    thanks astro now fitted the standard spring back in and everything is ok now

    you can drive the multivar without the springs, only adjust the weight of rollers and it should be fine
