i think the point trying to be made is that the full name is a contrast spring, but it is shortened to contra spring for multi languages, and its easier!!

OMG i just realised how old thread was!

on the topic of clutch n contra springs or whatever you call them.

when i take my clutch apart to do the springs whats the best way to do it without getting smacked in the face !

 

let someone else do it.

failing that just dont put your face in the way, i lodged a contra spring retaining nut in my shed ceiling once.

 

done it now. put in a vice and released slwly, wasnt exactly the strongest of springs anywho

 

I undone mine while I was standing on it, tried putting it in a vice and it just shot out :0
