Malossi or Polini? Kevlar Belt & Variator

Hi
been looking on pedparts as i need a new belt, was going to eventually put a 70's kit on my bike, so thought i may aswell buy a variator too.
I was just wondering which variator was best? between polini and malossi?
I have a 2001 piaggio zip 2t, pretty much standard all bar the technigas exhaust that came with it.
Also, if i was to keep my variator standard, and upgrade to a kevlar belt, would it make any difference to my bike?
The reason i ask is the description for the malossi kev belt says that it is for use with 19mm rollers,
is this just me being a tool and worrying too much or not?

I hear that too, which is why im asking around, but im buying a new variator at some point so dont know wether to just buy a belt and variator at the same time
