If its a crank for a 125/172/180 why part with stupid cash for a bgm/pm or malossi when you can get top racing cranks for dirt cheap that do the same job and look like they are made by bgm anyway or vise versa just as strong look stronger and are full circle etc etc? And are used and proven in loads scoots You can get 54 and 55's for like £114 and 52's for about £105?
james do u rate these cranks then..i keep asking questions about em cos the price is so appealing..i keep getting told to buy the bgm crank..
The bgm/pm is a good crank always hear good things about them aswell as malossi and most others but the top racing crank is just the same as them but a lot cheaper so i dont see the point paying for a bgm/pm crank when the top racing crank is just as good but at like £50 cheaper? Supose some people just buy stuff because of the name i dont no but compare a bgm to a top racing both full circle both come in 52 54 55 both very strong and both proven on big bhp scooters but one is a lot more money than the other i have had a 54 bgm and top racing in my hand and i cant tell them apart? Do the maths...Why pay £50 or whatever more for a crank when another that does the same job is a lot less i no what i would buy. And just because everyone else wants to buy a bgm or pm crank that means you have to...? At the end of the day most times you are paying for the name on the outside of the box bgm/pm whatever i would buy the top racing all day over them (125/180) does same job but a lot cheaper! And what cos the masses all buy them you have to aswell....??
i've had a few problems with the top-racing for 125 on a tuned setup, personally i would stick to BGM, they are a known brand.
tr cranks are CRAP.. used a few, never again as for second hand cranks, would you buy a used filling for your tooth? or even worse a used condom? same diff as somone has used an abused it by the tiome you have it. just buy NEW parts as second hand upgraded parts are exactly that, used an useless if you wont buy new your cheap and should stick to what you have. wasting your time tuning anything if you wont pull your wallet out
I would not go that far i think they are just as good as bgm's and to say they are crap i think is rubbish....my opinion only..
No it's cool mate but experience would be a shop say like jb's fitting loads of them all the time on big bhp auto's with no problems and not some one just fitting them to 2 engines....? ....think that says it all here!
I dont want to start an arguement and i know its not entirely relevat to the thread.... But could you please tell me/show me a BIG bhp auto that JB Tuning have done themselves? [this isnt a sarcy comment btw]
erm all the people that have got things out of there arent big 30 odd bhp bikes but then i drive with people that do miles so maybe thats why runner i was on was pushing 23hp but had a 55mm crank so wouldnt have been top racing anyway
there was a big problem when one was fitted to tommo's sr on here made a hell of a fuck up because it isnt that good minors built over 100 piggy lumps so obv he is the one to listen for in regards to rate and slate... why bother takeing the risk when i bet you (to anyone whose thinking off buying it) have spent over £600 on just the engine all to be let down by a too much of a bargain priced crank like ppl are saying here, you wouldnt put 12 inch runner wheels on a beemer m3 would you? same priniciple buy BGM they have been tested and have very good positive feedback from a good couple of members on here....
kk thanks for all the advice the reason i asked is because i ordered one from pm and they said id have to wait 4 weeks for it .so does anyone no where i can get one asap iv got 220 for crank and bearings .just dont want to w8 like a month thanks
