Are these worth investing in for road riding, because i feel the stock ones aren't very good there is an alternative brand beginning with a B and the same price as the piaggio stock item. Any body rode with these? Also how long do i expect the malossi forks to endure before needing servicing? And are they serviceable? Any info would be great guys. Also slightly of topic anybody tried michelin bopper tyre and would they be okay for dry days or do they want a real lot of heat in them. Was looking at the ml50s as they seem good for all weather conditions.
I have used them before on one of my old typhoon's, nice but to be honest i always preferred a new set of std fork's, handling was much better with std fork's and I always use 12" or 13" wheels anyway, far, far better and better choice of tyres. I can tell you what wheels fit if you want to change them.
No it's all good Marsh I know the ins and outs of wheels and to be honest i like the smaller wheels. What i would like to know is what size tyres to order bridgestone ml50s for typhoon standard 3 spoke wheels? Maybe just stick with the standard forks then coz the price of the malossi ones are hefty, there was a Buzetti fork? Should I consider that? Another question while I am here, what was the standard tyres they used to put on the typhoons when you used to be able to buy them brand new, the chunky tractor type ones?
The std tyres were chinshen ? and Michelin reggae. The buzzetti fork's in my opinion are not great, we fitted them to my Daughters nrg, very hard just like they had seized due to being filled with grease. Genuine fork's from scootercentre germany are very well priced. Tyre sizes are 120/90-10.
These were my fork's, look nice but far to soft for me even after a lot of adjusting. This is Beryl, my everyday typhoon with 12" wheels, Handles like an R1 !! Michelin pilot sport tyres.
You need a NRG Mc2 front wheel as it has the typhoon speedo drive and same size disc. ebay france is the place to find one, you'll have to measure the rear drum size as the early typhoon had a 100mm ? later 110or 120mm, i can't remember. If it's the small drum then it's Mc2 or later Mc3 and there's loads of them.
