Hi I've just installed 70cc piston but there seems to be a lot of movement from left to right ie between Conrod and piston is there meant to be spacers that sit between small end bearing and piston to stop the movement from left to right?

Its actually not normal, the problem is malossi designed their 70 piston to fit with THEIR little end bearing and although you can get away with using a standard one for what it costs its worth fitting the proper malossi one.

Hm, then I'm sorry for the wrong information. I have malossi rhq 12mm crank, it comes with a small end bearing(12x17x16) to fit with my malossi sport 70cc piston with 12mm gudgeon pin. It's lots of movement from side to side. What do you mean with the malossi proper one? I'm very sure i have the right one?

This is normal, once the piston is in the barrel it sit's central. The big end bearing has shims to keep the con rod square. To my knowledge only early model Lambrettas had thrust washers at the little end.

It explains why malossi gudgeon pins last about 2000 miles lol.
