can you tell me what jet size you think i should be running on my bike. i have an 84 main jet on the standard carb with an open air filter but it still seems to bog out when i go over 10mph. any suggestions (bike specs in signature).

Do a plug chop, find out what colour it is, whether its lean or rich... then youll know which way to go.

if it bogs, then go 3 main jets down, if its worse go 3 main jets up, then go either way up or down and it should steadily get better til its ok.

i think this is how it works anyway lol?

Right Bro what carb you got is it a 12mm or 17.5 ? As for jets not everyone bike is the same im running a 92 main jet in my nrg with 70 kit 21mm carb n open air filter but still rich so im going 4 a 88. what is the colour of ur spark plug ? the firing tip should b choccy brown or should be oily an black if its white its running WAY lean so up jet immediatly.

    Where is S.w are u from ?

jet is too big and your rollers are too heavy. fitting a filter on a stockish bike SERIOUSLY fucks everything setup wise. drop .5g off the roller weight min. wind the idle mix out a little more and try a 78 jet. its only bogging if it does it ALL the time at full throttle. otherwise its your transmission moving up too quickly

sorry, thought you ment a piaggio (must pay more attention) i REALLY wouldent bother with a filter tbh m8.. well unless you fancy changing rollers and messing with the carb, setup is dificult unless you REALLY know what your doing and filters change so many carb charicteristics its not worth the bother

thanks for the reply, do u think a 76 jet is about right for the standard airbox, or do i need a one in the 60's.

and the spec? if it was a sock 50 with only the filter id start at 62 and work down.. rollers will need to go lighter in any case.. roughly 10% increase for a filter but start at 20% and work down

say 20% ish.. start at 30% increase then work down. if its slightly faster a little from full throttle its rich so drop a jet size. remember tho if you dont know what your doing find somone who has a clue befor you turn your 70 kit in to scrap metal in 20 mins
