I finally took the courage to take my new scooter out for a quick ride to ensure it was working well  It seems to be ok. Just one thing, is it supposed to be fairly loud?? I was thinking about changing the exhaust. Does anyone recommend a quieter exhaust without messing up the reliability level of the scooter. I need a high level of reliability to get me to work and back.
Standard 2 stroke bikes are louder than 4 strokes but not normally so loud that you would notice. It's quite common for standard exhausts to rust over time and get holes in them so it's worth having a look and a poke. Otherwise you can buy lots of stock replacements for not much money. https://shop.scooter-attack.com/#!/en/Piaggio/Zip-2-Cat-50-as-from-1999/Exhaust-Systems/ Look under replacements.
Thanks for that I'll check out the link. As far as i can tell, there are no holes in the exhaust. I think its just the way its supposed to sound :bye: I'll keep looking in the meantime. Hopefully someone might suggest a housewife's remedy!! :good:
