Ok so I picked up the bike last night and im pretty chuffed with it. At the moment it dosent run but i think thats only down to 6month old petrol and a flat battery. At the moment my plans are: performance: Polini Eco kit, maybe upgrade clutch, Mod airbox, Polini sport 70, Hebo Performer or Yasuni Z, maybe bigger carb. visual: Gloss Lime green panels, Zebra print seat jack up and side stand. maybe renthal conversion. Im open to suggestions for better set ups. I know the visuals wont be to everyones taste but i dont care, its my bike.
Just pulled off all the stickers and realised why they were there. Paint is peeling off underneath. Oh well gonna be re-sprayed soon anyway. im completely broke atm but my student loan comes through soon and that will be funding the project
Try getting a pipe that makes it's power lower down the rev range, the vertical cylinders make all their power lower down so a high revving cylinder and pipe would frankly be a waste, best off having a traffic light flier than a speed freak bike with one of these, and an overrange variator should be added in place of the clutch, they're poxy stock. Change the carb 100% its a poxy 12mm carb, derestricted manifold too and have the Hebo in chrome, won't go far wrong there. Watch your clutch though it will be the 2 shoe 105mm version on that shape, not the 3 shoe 107mm like newer ones get. Bit of advice, don't drill holes less than 1/2 way down the box it WILL leak
the polini iron sport is meant to have lots of power low range so that should work pretty well i think. Recon an overrange would be a better bet than the polini set? Was just gonna go for that to save money by getting the belt and stuff all at once. Can anyone recommend any carbs? pref available on scooter-attack, think im gonna do a bulk order from there
Polini do a complete overrange variator kit that's about 100 quid, comes with belt, variator, fan pulley thing, rollers and a contra spring, it's on scooter attack and would save you money. The kit is a good kit but as said somewhere a Leo TT would be a good pipe with the Polini, hance why i'm getting one for my setup, but something with low down grunt would be your best bet...yasuni's aren't low revving.
have a look at this website, don't go for an expensive clutch and varriator you could do this yourself and if you need a zip sp clutch i've got one! http://fpp.hamradio.si/roost/tech/pulley/
ah cool thanks. Im guesing the Performer is lower revving? I was leaning towards it anyway, chrome would look lushh
Doppler s3w is low revving and powerful...sourced from another scooter forum Produces it's maximum power about 800 rpm's lower than the Hebo
LOL ain't the worst about, not the best by a long shot but i can't be arsed to change mine so it sorta makes me feel better, but as i said Doppler ftw on that setup
polini sport 70- 100quid hebo/tt/xpro. therse someone called vesta selling a near brand new laser xpro for about 80-90 quid, chrome polini transmission set vari/belt/springs -60-70 quid box of jets -10 if u got cash left a 19-21 or even bigger if uve set up carbs before
It's for a Piaggio.............. :wtf: check this link out, for a dyno test, paying particular attention to the revs http://www.ukscooterforum.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=129[url]
edited didn't copy, pasted...here it is again anyway, sports pipe shootout http://www.some-shit-copy-scooter-forum.com
yes but the top performance kit is poo and he isn't going to be running a 17.5 carb! his set up looked like he wanted to go for mid race!
Fitted a polini super speed kit as the transmission was trashed. Still not got it running yet, i need to check the spark and replace the fluids but its off to a good start. the goods: Before: After:
