Loud mopeds?

What does everyone think about them?

I sometimes get embarrassed sitting at traffic lights coz there's a car next to me and the people are looking like they're thinking wtf :/ then I beat em off the line

Loud or standard??

 

I look at it this way, loud pipes save life's, but if your embarrassed, it's too loud, and before you know Pc plod and his gang will take no greater pleasure than getting there dB meter out. Don't settle for standard, there are pipes that sound good, for not a lot of bucks, I have a Leo vince zx, too loud for me, I also have a viper, perfect pitch and sound, I'm sure there will be a whole host of fellow scooter peeps telling which pipe you should go for. But don't settle for standard

 

I've got a stage 6 pro replica on mine, only get embarrassed when I'm sat there doing nothing or if I'm going through a road with loads of people down, just feel everyone's eyes on me haha, then feel the need to speed up just so they see its not all noise and no go

 

Btw does derestricting the exhaust make it any louder?

 

Well, yes, of course, the restriction slows the flow of gases, that include energy, or sound waves, free the gases, free the sound...though nice pipe.

 

That's probably why it's so loud haha, sounds nice tho

 

Has it been up jetted correctly? I've been told by another member that if it hasn't, then it will be over loud.

 

Yeah it has, put it on standard, and it's pretty much the same now as it was then anyways lol

 

My brothers done loads to it haha, new kickstart, new caliper and disk, new exhaust, cleaned and jetted the carb, new airfilter, new clock fairing, new centre stand and new transmission seals to be done tomorrow

Mopeds can be pretty expensive to do up

 

But enjoyable when it's done , there is also a certain amount of pride.

 

He done the important things before I started riding, the rest is just what I wanted done gonna do some miles, get used to it and probably put some new panels on

Ah, the very beginnings, this is what they call your spring years of automotive transportation, you'll have good times and bad, don't do nothing too daft, you'll have a grand summer, shuttling from one town or village to the next, checking your reflection in the shop windows as you roll on by, I envy you, you go getting whipper snapper!

 

Exactly what mines like, every time I go home from my mums I go through a high street and get stopped by train gates, sitting there with a loud moped in a busy high street haha, always get some funny looks!!

 

mine is like a brrrap pap pap pap brrrap pap pa! Pap! Pap pap brrrap at idle, like a happy little fart box.


I'm 40, not really a chav, more a learned scooter rider, defo don't wear knickers, they tend to chaif...

 

Knickers are not my choice of undies either :/ haha, I'd rather have a loud fast ped than a quiet slow ped anyway, had a near miss last week, someone went to pull out and the only way I could avoid her was speeding up, didn't have time to slam the brakes on

 

Had that on my big bike few weeks ago, I let them go, got on a straight and kicked the wing mirror off as I roared past, cnut!

 

Don't go giving me any ideas, ill probably start doing that just for a laugh

 

nonsense, nought like a nice silk pair of frillys for a long journey, also the red g string really brings out the decals on my bike.

 

I am also a middle class chav, there's nothing better than seeing the looks on peoples faces when me on my chavved ped pulls into my drive, I can tell they're thinking 'OH, that kid gon' rob that house then run off back to his council estate, bitch'.
