Ok well my parts from scooter center have arrived for the runnersp. however im slightly confused with the speed drive. This is what i have http://scooter-center.com/catalog/produ ... fd8b67c9a4 Will this work with the standard part or do i need http://scooter-center.com/catalog/produ ... fd8b67c9a4 I got some high temp grease with the torque drive, were abouts do i put it? Also ive got a blue polini contrast spring, should i fit this or leave standard one in, ive also got a malossi white one what i got with my multivar for my speedy. Everything else seems good carb plugs into manifold nicely.
put a weight ontop of each spring, wichever goes down more is softer so use that, when you off the throttle at say 30 the bike slows down with the engine then drops the revs fully at about 5mph ye? the stiffer the spring the later it leaves this and the harder it decelerates off the throttle (feels like the bike is slowing down under you) as for the grease, it goes on the pins and EVERYWHERE between the 2 big oilseals.. it has to last a good while remember
kk cheers minor, so the softest spring. do you know what sort of jet ill be looking at with a 21mil delleroto will it be differnt from before. i have jets from 70 to around 90 for it
couldent tell you with a peugot engine, start with your biggest and lightest rollers and see what it says
its not a peugeot engine mate, i dont have a peugeot anymore. Its a runner 50 sp with polini iron bore, 125 manifold, 21mil delleorto phbg leo tt and 6,5 g malossi rollers standard variator and polini torque drive
I will make a note of that as well, as my set up is fairly close to yours And i may end up with a 21mm carb myself!!
o ye sorry the roller are 5,5g but im fitting them once the bore is run in. Basically im running it in. Changing the rollers and testing it. Fitting the torque drive and testing it. Fitting the 125 manifold and carb and testing it. Minor on the running in process im doing 7000rpm ranging to about 7500rpm and im hitting inbetween 30 and 40. I cant tell if the throttle is quarter way round but it bogs slightly full throttle (86 jet in im not going to bother to change untill i put the 21mill on.) Issit ok to wack it upto full thorottle for a few seconds every 5 mins or so Ye dave im running in atm and some prick bmw decieed to sit RIGHT! up my arse untill he could overtake so i thought once wont hurt and went he went to take me i absoutly destroyed him. Not even my mhr bore on my speedy did 30 to 50 that quick.
ok wicked cheers 4 all ur help mate. Im going to fit the clutch springs when i do the torque drive. Are the clutch springs hard to do as ive seen them many times messying around with bikes but they look rather tricker and as if those springs will be cunts. Or issit not that bad. What sort of gains in acceleration should i notice from my speed drive. Will it be noticble
Yeah i know what you mean..I knew the polini was a torquey kit but i was still surprised at how torquey it was once fitted. My scoot now accelerates harder on half throttle then the 50 did at full throttle :w00t: The top end doesnt feel too strong but im putting that down to my piddley 12mm carb and leo zx pipe throwing in the towel at high r.p.m still thats good news in away really because i should get another boost in power when the x-pro and bigger carb goes on....which is nice!!
only gonna gain mabey 5-10mph with ANY mods on stock gearing with the stock cdi (10k at the top of the transmission is about 55 ish) all the power in the world wont push you past this, you need gears to lengthen the actual gearing of the bike or an unlimited cdi to push higher revs. (wich an iron kit wont do) so gear up for more top end and similar to 50 accel or dont and have a wheely friendly 60mph ped... i prefer no gear up with an iron kit
cheers for the advice minor... Thats exactly what i was thinking myself im more interested in around town acceleration than top end myself.. As for wheelie machine, that sounds great...shame im crap at wheelies :emb:
Ok issit 300 miles to run in or 600, if its 600 miles i think im going to change the rollers to 5,5 fit the clutch springs, contrast spring, torque drive, 125 manifold and 21 mil carb. If its 300 ill wait till its run in. If it is 600 once ive dont 300 issit ok to ragg it up to top speed a few times untill ive done 600 when i then can ragg it. Ive used the search but ive been told 300 read 600 heard lots of differnt stuff, lol thanks
ok thanks dave. With standard carb ive been running 86 jet, put a 78 in earlier and it ran like shit, bogged everytime i went full throttle so i put the 86 bak in and it was fine. Bit confused because i know minor knows his stuff pluss 86 sounds rather high./
no i want to see the differnce each part makes I can then tell people if its worth buying or not. Wobbly does 300 miles sound ok to run this iron kit in for
