    hi,

Just wondering about lights on a speedfight 2, my indicators and brake lights work when i turn my ignition on but head lights don't, I'm wondering if there is anyway to wire so i can have my headlight on with just the ignition.

Would be handy if i could as i come in late from work on weekends and it would be goo to be able to see but not have the engine running while I'm putting my bike away

    cheers

you probably could somehow by cutting the headlight wires into the indicator circuit or summat, your battery would probably die pretty quick though...

i would wire the sidelight up to the battery, change the normal 501 for a smd LED, should be bright enough to see what your doing but not kill the battery in minutes

    Hi Cockers,
    unfortunately this won't work well-
the headlight uses more power than anything else on your bike and for this reason it runs from a different AC supply from the stator which hasn't been converted to DC by the regulator and is therefore more efficient.
This is why the headlight will only come on when the engine is running, because it runs from AC instead of the battery DC (AC cannot be stored but only generated whilst the engine is running)
You can re-wire the headlight so as it is powered DC directly from the battery but this puts a much greater strain on the charging system and on your particular bike it would struggle to keep the battery charged properly.
    cheers,
    Andy
