Number of places you will find the CDI unit first place to start is between your legs, some bikes store the battery in the bikes floor panel and also they put the cdi unit in this area. if your bike has no floor panel battery its going to be in the rear end of the bike. under the seat bucket when removed, or behind the battery in the seat bucket, or in one of the side pods at the rear of the bike. very rare the cdi unit is placed in the front headlamp cowl, its always close to the motor . its going to be a little black box with a four pin connector on its and a two pin connector on it, or if its an older model its going to have just a single four pin connector. as already stated, if your unsure about your scooter it may be better paying a mechanic in a bike shop to do this all for you. things CAN GO WRONG , if your bike is brand new and something goes wrong they will NOT fix it under warenty unless they did the changes themselves, if you done it expect a labour charge and charges for parts. added image of what your looking for
