i belive we have the same engine, i have a yamaha aerox 100cc air cooled bike.

Theirs not alot of info on these motors but from what i can tell, the exhaust port is heavily restricted and the barrel needs a good port by someone with the know how to get them up and running well. Their is no restrictions in the typical sense, no variator washer or pipe restriction as this is only on 50cc peds

Now to help on your issue, I have the stock engine, a leo vince zx pipe and an 86 size main jet (stock on mine was a 76 you must upjet for a sports pipe)

With the pipe i got 6 x 7.7 gram rollers which i fitted. The bike pulled ok but changed into second too early and struggled too pull any power in second gear unless on a hill.

I then tried 6 gram rollers, this made acceleration after 20mph pretty good but the gear change wouldnt happen for second.

So i tried 3x 6 gram rollers and 3 x 7.7 gram rollers (this gives a weight of 6.8 grams overall if that makes sense to you) The bike now shifts into second again but a tiny bit too early too stay in the bikes powerband, so i have ordered some 6.5 gram rollers which fingers crossed will give good performance.

Now for the bad news, these engines arent fast and mine tops at around 60mph on the flat. With the heavy rollers i did see 70 on a decent hill haha I have also fitted stiffer clutch springs to increase take off, which has helped a bit.

I will in time grab another barrel and have it sent off to be ported by Mick abbey. He has worked on this engine before and it gave the engine alot more power on the track he found I will update my thrad when i get this done.

i hope this helps, sorry for the long post hehe

cheers for the reply, yes i believe my engine is the same as the areox 100 air cooled, strangely when i had the standard exhaust on it was reaching a top speed of about 55mph on a flat and reaching about 60mph down hill, with the sports exhaust i get too 55mph and then it goes know where else even down a hill but yet it feels like it has alot more power too give out :/

what gram rollers do you recommend then? as i dont know much about bikes apart from riding them lol.
