Got a new headlight unit installed on my aprilia sr 125... I want to have a separate switch for my LED lights on the headlights to have them on and off separately from the headlights.. currently they're hooked up the the old sidelight wires to give it power that way. Is there any way i can wire it up somewhere, and connect it to a LED switch that i can buy off ebay? Cheers!
Yeah the LED are the angel eyes. I tried a on off switch from ebay but it didn't work. It needs to be connected to its own power source/switch or something. I was maybe thinking getting a 9v battery and hooking it all up to a switch as it'l only be for show.
If they where running fine from the sidelight power supply they will run fine off the battery. All you need are these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Waterproo...4?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3a6d23d02c http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Blue-12V-...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4ac0330749 and some wire It is quite a simple job to do, would be much easier then having to find a separate power source that will have to be replaced. I personally like to use switched with lights in so that you can tell if the switch is closed without having to get off the bike and having to see if the lights are on
not to be a bell-end but you know the lights are an mot fail right? and if you use the bike at night and get pulled you get fine + point's + bike impounded if you change something that makes your bike into an MOT fail then use the bike you are riding without insurance as it is voided because of the MOT fail. i am just letting you know this so you know what your doing, as i got a £800 fine + 8 points + my runner impounded costing £194 to get back because i put some of the same lights type on it. and the police are cracking down on this type of modding with the halogen lights because it a massive safety risk as you will see the first time you ride at night, you cant see shit with the light so ppl are hitting things, crashing because of stuff in the road due to the drop in light.
it wont fail because he said there for show purposes and if you look closely you can see his normal lights in the middle of them so he wont be using them at night
my bike had same type and i got hammered so deffo will fail. also you can see the lights are the haliget type that is an instant FAIL, also if you have SHOW lights they MUST have covers for when there on the road so.... what he will cover the light unit up? my post was not me been a bellend i was just letting him know what can happen. i can photo my paper license to show the points/fine
They r a mot fail as they r not propa pa bulbs they r house hold halogens bulbs lol. but depends who's doing your mot. I had em on mine n took them off after a few days and ended up getting the 50cc headlight n not having any side light just leave my main beam on all the time.
But if he dont use dem n der on a switch how the mot tester gunna know were da switch is to put dem on to fail da bike lol
he needs to turn on the head light to test the bike. i am not talking about the silly blue rings. the head light bulbs that are used in the light kit as not made for road use so the bike is a fail. and whats more is if the bike is used at night it not insured because the light are substandard. any light that use's THIS type of bulb is NOT for road use. making it a day use only bike. but the none road use lights have to be covered when it bike is on the road or it will be impounded if pulled. also the MOT must stat DAY USE ONLY or it is voided meaning the bike as NO insurance so not to be used on the road till it is retested for use. What is more by the power of eye's you can see the light rings so it as an mot tester job to ask you to turn them on for testing if you refuse or there not working or if there the wrong color for road use the bike fails if the lights are fitter they must work so saying the tester will not know when the switch is will not cut it. and more there sitting in the way of the head light blocking its operation witch is a...... FAIL. Do we need to go on?
scooter-noob is 100% right. pluse you cant adjust them lights so will fail on light alinement aswell.
I was not bad mouthing the OP or the lights i just feel that ppl should know the right info so they can make the right choices for there self, because let me till you the £25 lights i fitted bit me in the ass and i would not have used them if i had known. because the £800 fine, 8 points and the impound fee's + higher insurances costs for 3 years was not cool about £1500 all in for a set of £25 lights.
Lol...yea well still he could take take off for mot n put back on afterwards...but thats his risk i suppose eh...looks nice tho
