why power... why would it make a difference? if its a air cooled engine from the start... surely making it liquid cooled wont add anything what so ever? just make it liquid cooled :p some one want to explain for me?

Liquid cooled engines can generally run closer tolerances with the temperature being more controlled which makes them a little more perky, still air cooled FTW... LC peds are just another thing to go wrong really.

the theory is that they can use closer tolerances but in practice the AC is better because it is lighter and easier to work on. the tolerances are about the same. if you are doing serious tuning then LC is better.

a stock 172 barrel will be the same power on ether as the ports are identical. the wc will dispurse heat evenly where as the ac will get hot spots. people think there faster as lc engines have slightly longer gearing (and a bigger rear wheel)

put it basicly air is easier to move than water so an ac 172 on the same gearing will be faster if its not getting too hot. your friends bike is running rich hence is overheating
