Lambretta 125special cannot turn ignition key

Hello

Kinda stumped on this. Just rode my scooter got back all fine turned it off then when I went to go back out on it the ignition key wont turn its just stuck in the off position. It will not turn either way.

I looked in the manual and thought perhaps it was the steering lock but I've tried moving the handles fully to the left which is as advised for this and attempted to move the key. Nope wont budge.

Called the local scooter repair man and he has never dealt with anything like this either so a bit stumped about how I am going to get to work next week.

Any ideas anyone on what to try?

 

Your not trying to push and turn the key in are you ?

 

I had this issue on my Piaggio Zip quite some time ago, it would do this often as my ignition barell would like to pop out so i would have to nudge it left and right a little bit and pushing it in and into the ON position,took a few tries but it always worked in the end
