    Hello ,
I recently installed a new Malossi 70 kit on my bike (Benelli 49x) and i was sure that the kickstart would be a bit stiffer than before because of the bigger piston and kit but i think its toooo fuckin much i mean am struggling to kickstart my bike..is this a problem or is it normal?

Take the plug out and see if it eases if not you have left a rag in it or something.

does the kickstart move freely when the case is off the engine...if not it could be the shaft thats gone dry or is seized in the tranny case

what diagnosis have you undertaken to draw that conclusion?

If the plugs removed, then theres less back pressure and therefore the kickstart will move more easily.
If you've taken the case off and the kick start dont move in the case, then it'd make it harder to kick start when its fitted to the bike :p

In both cases, once its fired up, the engine would run as normal . :banghead: ..neither are rocket science

No electric starter then? I dont even have a kickstart on my zip I have to rely on my electric start but it seems to work fine with a 70.

Looks like you need to rebuild the kickstart. Not the easiest of jobs you might wanna get a shop to do it.

Yea the kickstart mechinisim, spring and all. Clean it all up and look for worn/damaged parts you will probably need to replace a part. Thats why I say get a shop to fit it, they can be abit of a pain to do yourself.

If its still stiff afterwards the perhaps your 70kit has been installed incorrectly and everything is too tight!

Will it start and run on the electric start?
