Hey people, was wondering if any of u nice folk could tell me what is wrong with my kickstart? Just that it makes a horrible grinding noise when I try to use it, any ideas?
Springs holding all together weakened and/or worn chipped teeth, Take it apart and recce guarenteed to notice damage.
Chipped tooth huh? Sounds like I need to take it to the dentist, I will maybe take it apart depending if I got the tools to do it, take a photo then post on here? I know not much about these things really .
Whole mechanism is held under compression like the internal workings of a clock, anchored by pegs/anchor points,wear or weakness causes problems with the mesh.
Take a pic or draw a diagram of it before!! you take any attempt to dismantle it...can be a bit of a b...h to re-fit or set up to work proper for the sake of one little detail like one bit an one notch. .
Does it involve tinkering with the engine at all? Cos if it does I rather take it to a person who knows what they is doing,
Eh?, Not to on the ball with more modern,but all I had to do with my ol 'ped was undo ©6 bolts an take off transmission cover,entire mechanism is inside the case itself/ once inspected or renewed just a matter of making sure it's all back together proper an putting it back on again.
