Sounds like my scooter, does it take off when you hold the back brake on then release it at standstill too? Mine's like that won't pull at low revs think its the roller weights :(

av u put any aftermarket parts on it? pipe, bore etc and is it de-restricted? cos it sounds like jets or rollers.
My katana does the same cos it needs lighter rollers but i cant be arsed to change em

Yeah same here when stated for about 2-3 mins it's fine but after that it bogs out. Got a feeling it's due to hving a small carb not giving enough air/fuel and cooling, hence why it bogs out. Thats my theory anyway but i could be (read probably am) wrong :p

After ridin today i'm secure that it's not the transmission it has a wierd power curve (nearly dead 0-10, bit of poke 10-15, slooow 15-25, full power 25<). I'd suggest finding a mate with a 17.5mm carb and have a test of that on your bike see if it improves as the problem sounds very much like mine.

when u come 2 a stop after riding 4 a bit release throttle idles rough wont move more than 2mph then after a bit of throttle on/off it starts 2 move then rides normal?

A bit like that, it will ride normal until it comes to a stop, idle is okay though on mine but when you take off it can randomly not take off, go like 5mph for ages then goes. When i stop then it might do the same or not it's mad as when you go to pull out you never know if it'll move :msn1: As i said i reckon it's having a small carb not giving the bike enough fuel/air mix to power it. I'd try borrowing a larger carb off a mate and seeing if it works, and i'll be getting new shit soon anyway so i can't be bothered any more :p

:msn1: Wouldn't take that long ot do all of that providing you have the correct tools for the job. transmission shizz shouldn't even be an hour with the correct tools, As Mick_T said it isn't hard with a manual or just look at some of the scooter projects on here for some tips.

I must say I saw a Katana LC yesterday at the local garage, ain't exactly the prettiest thing on 2 wheels with a 50cc engine. On a serious note yep anything with a Piaggio engine or a mineralli engine (yamaha's are cheaper to mend ;) )

actually, the kat is a really under-rated scooter, they have some potential just need a complete rebuild before you start. minarelli and piggy are good out of the box.

A mate had a SR50 with the morini engine in and spent shit loads on it and was fucking quick.

my gripe is that I could get an SR50, NRG, Runner, Aerox, Jog RR, etc etc etc for similar money that all (in my opinion) look better, will perform better and probably be worth more when i sell it on. just a thought :D
