Just Bought A New Carb? Problems Already.

    just bought a new carb for my piaggio nrg power, ive got the same dellorto 17.mm carb but with a vaccum port on whereas my old one didnt, i put a piece of pipe on it with a screw in the other end like the guy told me and it should sort it out, i put my old jets in the new carb and screwed my old throttle back into my new carb, started it up after id finished and its firing a lot of smoke out and its making a bad suction noise? im useless with stuff so any help is a bonus,

    it mite just need to burn some fuel outa of the float bowl ...jus run it for 10 mins and c wat it does

    What? Your old carb didn't have a vac feed so you bought one that did and blocked it up? That doesn't even make any sense.

    the old shape nrg's has a vac on engine or intake system and there is no vac on carb and most of the dellortos have vac on carb
