ive made vents at the front of my runner and have tubes taking the air to the engine as another cooling mechanism if i was to flow the air coming from the vents straight into the air filter would this have an effect, like basically having the air forced into the carb rather than sucked?

    jus an idea ?

    any advise/knowledge

Ctheorecticly yes. just like a car, like an induction kit, if cold air is forced onto the engine, the better the performnce. cold being pushed through an engine will make it perform better. Thats why you see far from many 172´s/183´s with short cuts of K&N pipe jubilee clipped to the carbs with air filters in.
If you can keep the induction of cold air away from the engine, the better.
The cooler the air, the better the performance, a reversed turbo.
Im well fucking sloshed, just had a fat joint n all. i feel wel messy. gotta go bed, but someone plz correct me if im wrong ;)

actually called ram air on a bike, suzuki and the like have used the sys for years but only any real good over 60mph really... the main advantage would come from putting the pipe at the end of the filter and running the pipe through 180 so it points forward, your engine doesent have to grab air rushing past and change its direction then. theress lots of ways to exploit air but again there not much gain on such a small engine as its not drawing all that much air in the first place so the losses to gas direction changes and density from the original position is minimal. forward facing carb, ram pipe and a big hole in the foot pan would give good results

Was thinking of doing that with my bike, would having the pipe leading to the airbox work if it were mounted on the bellypan though?

    hmmm okay
well ill still carry on with it see how it goes,
ill get some pictures up when its done properly
ive just chucked it together quickly atm to see what it looks like.
so if cold air is being forced in the better results, but not very noticable on a small engine.... if i have understood it right.
