Hi there im just about to order a stainless steel pipe for my runner vxr its the cheap £130 one from donotlink, Im also ordering a open air filter as my airbox is fucked, only a few screws bite and it leaks air so might aswell run a open air filter.

Im gonna need to upjet for the airfilter and maybe a tad for the exhaust, my peds got a Walbro WV F7D 29mm carb, I already have loads of 6mm jets will these fit this carb? or do I need to order some 5mm jets? Im not going to ask about jet size as I know its roughly 10% above the standard size and Il figure it out for myself.

I also have 10.5g rollers in there was thinking of bumping down to 10g or 9.5g? What do you guys recon?

    Cheers for any help

hi mate you alright? it should be 6mm and i am about 99.9% sure as mehmets was too and yea about 8-10% upjettin will sort it and the rollers drop to 9.5 or 10g's:)

Yeah im good thanks and yourself?

Thanks for telling me that, I was gonna order a bunch of 5mm jets as it says they fit my bike on donotlink, but mehmets carb is the same as mine so il try my 6mm jets before ordering anymore.

the pipe wont need a upjet but the airfilter will. no idea how 4 strokes react to a open filter though might be a really weird jet size

I ran it without the airbox on for a min or 2 when I last had the tranny cover off, it sounded nice just bogged if you tried to whack the throttle back.

Apparently (not my own words) a 4 banger will react better to an open filter compared to a 2 stroke. And should see gains?
Im just after abit of intake noise really, to go well with the exhaust notes

filter is a similar story as on a 2t meaning the jetting is fucked. ie main jet needle and idle mix will need richening BUT the freeflowing air WILL mean gains are seen... the 4t's are asmatic little engines at the best of times so dont be expecting too much. verry restrictive engine by design
