Well thats it, the Jonway is Taxed, Insured, and Mot'ed. So the grandson is now on the road. There is still a bit of fettleing to do but all seems well. I guess the project set me back about £260. I'm sure I could have bought a better bike for that money, but there would have been no fun in that. The head lights do not seem very bright, so will have to check the regulator, and possibly the magneto. It also could be a bad earth, so will check that out when I get to see the bike again. Still want to change the oil in the gearbox. But we have done the engine oil. I think a new starter motor will also be required, but he can bump start the bike ok. It could just be that the battery is not charging as it should. I did check the voltage, and when you rev up it gives about 12.8 volts. I would have expected to see more than that though. But until I get to see the bike again, I can not tell what is wrong.
So there you have it, another satisfied customer. Now what shall I do next.

Definitely check the magneto if the battery is not charging up properly.
