    Hi to all,
I am new here and i need some help.
I have an Aprilia Scarabeo 50 1998 model (minarelli engine), and I tune it using 70cc cylinder kit polini, polini reed valve, dellorto PHBN 17,5 from the 12mm stock, open air filter, and Giannelli exhaust Rekord.
The stock 12mm carb had 70 main jet, and now with all this stuff and the 17.5mm carb i have 90 main jet.
The bike now work with very hight tempature, very hot. This can be happening because i want bigger main jet? Now is too lean?
    Thanks for your help

    Hi again, nobody for help?
I change the pilot jet from 43 to 48 and the main jet from 90 to 100 and the neddle two clips down, also i change the spark plug from br7hs to br8hs (colder). Now is work in lower temprature and open good until 60-65km, after 65km didn't open so good...

normally a too lean main jet will cause hot running temperature...

as well as a few other scenarios :)

Hi Dave and thanks for your answer.
What else do you think can cause hot running temperature?
After around 30km that i ride it, i saw the spark plud and is brown, i think that is good.
But i still have a problem after the 65km didn't open so good, the max speed is arround 90km,
I will check it and with a 102 or a 105 main jet and i will lets you know(maybe i will try to find and a bigger power jet, now have a 50 power jet)
    thanks

just the weather alone can affect the performance of small 2 stroke engines, they love cold air, cold air is more denser with oxygen than warm air, so helps the combustion process...

also cvt transmissions operate better in a cooler climate, and you will notice a drop off in performance if the transmission gets too hot...

make sure your jetting is correct, your cooling system is operating correctly (if liquid cooled) theres plenty of top quality oil getting to your engine, your rollers and clutch springs are optimum (takes time patience and experimentation) your air cleaner is working efficiently and not strangling the engine :)
