Hi gang, Took Ivy out for ride this evening and all was well till we got to a town 6 miles away. She suddenly started complaining and died as i stopped to turn in to a car park, got her started again and she limped into the car park, dying as i stopped. I immediately checked the fuel (as the fuel gauge is borked) and she had enough in her. I decided to head back to the garage at the end of the road and she died again as i stopped. Brimmed her tank and she seemed ok til we hit the road again. She does 50 usually but she never got above 30, maxing at 40 down hill. She seems to be holding back a bit too under power and thought it might be the brakes, which i checked at the next town. They seemed fine and worked and disengaged fully as they should. I suspect she may have a fuel line blockage but i know zip about bike maintenance. Any ideas?
Have you checked it has plenty of oil as well as petrol start with the basics mate clean/check the filter as well as the spark plug then go from there
well he has plenty of oil, will check the rest tomorrow. Just went out on her again not long after your reply and she seems to be doing better. 40 on flat 50 on hill. She's still chugging along but nothing obvious (no noise, rattles etc). She also hasnt died when ive come to a complete stop before getting off although when she does these a click from the back.
fourstroke or two. sounds like an overheat problem, 6 mile 50mph then stalling out, slow riding back again ....... long break to cool down and scoot seems fine again abit slightly slower than normal, that sounds like a overheat area. is it liquid cooled, if so you may want to check coolant levels are all good
OK, so it appears that she's riding normally now...she's reaching 50 on flats and manages to maintain it up small inclines... I'm guessing it was just her time of the month...will keep an eye on her though
