Hello to you all. I'm John from Norway, and I have been so inspired by tErr0, so I have bougth my own Typhoon. It's 1996 compete standard, but not for long I have started stripping it down, and want to paint it black like tErr0. Hope you don't mind? I have also bought new NRG wheels for it + a new type speedo. All from Ebay uk. It cost a fortune in postage, but I have scooters as a hobby, and hobbys ain't cheap. I will post pictures as I progress, but this is a winter project, so be patient. This is how she look when I bougth her. Here I have started the stripping her. NRG front wheel. NRG original disk is too big, so I have to buy a new fork to use it. NRG rear wheel Wheels on the chassis Some parts back from powder coating. I have even powder coated the exhaust. I don't know how it will cope with the heat, but I had to try as it was so rusty. New and old speedo. Sanding down the panels.
Wow. Didnt think there was many unmodded typhs kicking around! Looking forward to this one mate. The wheels look sick already
Ye man, looks damn good! What colour you thinking of having the wheels or keeping them yellow?? Well done so far< keep us posted and keep them pics coming :nerd:
love it, one thing i will say is powdercoated exhaust is gonna be a no no. powdercoat is basically a plastic-like coating, it doesnt like heat very much, it MIGHT stand it, but i would be a bit skeptical. other then that looks like its gonna be a good project.
This I already have on my Runner, migth want one for the Typhoon as well. http://www.sip-scootershop.com/upload/f ... 34_000.pdf
I also want to get rid of the standard air box, but do not want to use a open airfilter, as this make a lot of noice. What do you think about this?Art.-No.: AC115210F
personal mate on a zorst id go for a scorpian as for the open filter id go for a malossi one mines great.
thas a lomas pipe, same as a scorp (made by the same person) but a diff shape. looks wank on a typh tho. forget the scorp if you want any kind of power from the engine
really i thought scorps performed mint, but yeah that pipe does look fuckin wankwhat 172 kit you got on it mate?
ok, so your recomending things youve never used.. arc: everyones an expert ay ANYWAY, yours is the series one engine (p reg im guessing) so remember it has smaller crank webs so all the aftermarket cranks wont fit. they changed them due to problems with the cases cracking and cranks wearing out prematurley. other than that it is a completly original series one so would probably have been best tidy'd up and left stock minted in a garage for 10 years.. oh well, too late now
What do you recomend then, MiNoR cOnFuSiOn? How about the RS180 from And you are right about the engine, so I'm trying to get a series 2 engine from Ebay this days.
deffo not, if your not gonna wheely it go for the jolly moto 172 pipe. or if your handy with a welder a pm59 (snappage is a matter of time with every pipe they make unfortunatly)
yup, and whoever told you this had one..not having a pop, just dont recomend stuff youve had no personal experience with.. its like talking to a dentist about your cat's strange circular bald patch
i have seen a few jolly moto pipe they sound nice but i fink they make it look to much like a 50 and loving the typh mate
thats a good thing if it looks like a 50 as thievs wont give it a second glance. good powerfull pipes m8, psn ran 36bhp through one on one of there sprinters.
