Hello everyone I got this Dragster 180 last August. It wasn't in the best possible condition but I wanted one since they first came out! But I chose to buy a car than a scooter back then so here I am .. A 35er with a bad @ss looking scooter! So when I finished with all the papers I returned to my home town and went to show it off to a friend, that friend owns a bike service shop! Well I must say he didn't told me what I wanted/needed to hear ATM. Things like " Take it back...", " You did the biggest mistake in your life.." and things like that! OK ...I know it's not perfect but I waited 16 years to get one and I'm not letting it go now! And my friends words just made me angry and stubborn! So I'll need help from you guys! And here I am looking for a good places to start and looking for parts! Looking for some bits ATM... Thank you George
That is one of the cleanest original dragsters I've seen for a long time, you'll need to be more specific on what bits you are needing.
Well you see the black paint under the rear seat? That's tape! The side panels are broken. But I have a set of side panes.. I have a front Paioli Corsa shock absorber and I need a second , theyare out of stock everywhere! I'm also looking for the #3 from the photo below Wolf
I suggest giving italjet a call, after a little searching around it seems they had lots of the shocks 3 months ago, so it might be possible they can get a hold of one for you or tell you if/when they'll have more in stock. I believe if you ask about the headlight bracket they'll help with that too, if not, I'm sure you'll be able to make your own bracket if needed?
I asked around to the bike selling shops and none actually does that here! I'd prefer the Corsa though cause it has adjustable rebound.. AND I already have the front Corsa shock installed! I saw huge difference with the front shock! I want it softer! I'm not after lap times I just want it to go smoother over bumps! Wolf
The scooter works.. The engine pulls strong and I'm happy with its performance. I will replace almost all panels tho. And I want to upgrade the suspension. I fount a few weeks ago the Paioli Corsa for the front suspension and I'm looking for the rear. I will soon sent the wheels for new color. I installed LED tail light. I'm happy with the performance and I won't replace any engine component ... At least not yet. If it breaks then I'll see what I'll do. Today the silent block broke.. So I now have to take out the engine. Wolf
I already emailed them. They only have the stock shock absorber. About a week ago I was able to replace the coolant expansion tank and the coolant. The expansion tank had a crack .. It was due being old and exposed to the sun light. When the bike was warm enough I could hear a hissing sound from the crack. I was able to locate a new tank and I installed a cap to prorect it. Also I replaced the tail light with a LED one And today the silent block broke... Don't know if I can remove the engine myself or take it to the mechanic... My mechanic is really busy and can't fix it now. I guess I'll wait for my mechanic.. The weather will get bad in the next few days. Wolf
I knew it wasn't the most reliable scooter on the market. But I love it. It looks great... basically I got it just for the looks!! I wanted one since late 1999/ early 2000... Now I'm thinking to make a small stash of spare parts for it. There's nothing in Greece! Wolf
Sweet!! I found the rear Paioli Corsa shock absorber!! Now I need to sort the broken silent block issue! Wolf
The rubber is snapped. I have to remove the engine. And when I do that I'll replace and the engine mounts. I just can't do it ATM. I'm too busy at work to deal with it now.
Does anyone of you guys know how to take apart the steering arm joints?? Is it a hard job to DIY? My steering started to wobble a lot the past few days. Wolf
One more question fellas.. The silent block on the Dragster is broken and since I have to take out the engine to replace that I will replace and the engine mounts.. Does anyone has experience with the BGM Pro engine mount upgrade parts? Or the stock mounts are better? Thank you
