hi guys could do with some advice if you can please. i fitted an alarm on my sons bike last night and all seems great with it and appears to be working fine, issue is this morning the bike wouldn't start off electric start ( low battery ) so after kicking starting the bike all seemed good until the bike was sat on to take it off its center stand when it suddenly started reving high. after messing around i have found when the bike is running and on its center stand if you press down on the rear of the bike it will rev high as though its being throttled but then if you grab the bike at the back and lift the rear just a little lift the revs will drop back to normal. take the bike of the center stand and and the bike is 100% normal and appears to be fine. is this normal? if not normal what could be creating this issue? i did not notice this issue prior to fitting the alarm but in fairness i did not look at all.
The cables on yourbike, have been put on according to certain planned routes, you may have disturbed one to such an intent- that it interferes with it's nominal ability to function as designed., In layman's terms, could be catching on something, as per your description of 2 different happenings for 2 different events.
yes i assumed i had caught or jammed something. was hoping that i had not though as i am getting feed up of taking the panels on and off the bike lol.
Trust me mate, gets quicker with practice.!. , have an F1 type feeling everytime I approach my 'ped.,ha ha . .
I don't drink as I am diabetic, but I can put things onto favours accounts that I can call in at a later date.
. ., Won't even touch a bike part if i've had a bevvy, 3 relitives with different stages- Must really suck having to watch yourself with the times an diet issues., don't mind helping occasionally / esp. long lines of furthering own knowledge.that's my idea of payment, It's the w.....s that expect things I can't stand.
[off topic] Diabetes is a life changing event. It's hereditary age-onset diabetes in my family and I've been insulin dependent for eight years. Drink and insulin don't mix and when I was first diagnosed ten years ago, I just gave up the drink totally and I don't miss it. I'm on so many meds I rattle if I jump up and down and TBH that's a small price to pay for keeping popular body parts like legs attached to you. I still have the eyesight of a fighter pilot though. Had a few mates loose a few bits due to it. ., My Nan was like that- only had her lenses done shy of 90.,bless her. .
Giving up booze in 15 days...... I hate to say this but the best mechanic I know refuses to put alarms on scoots because of the electrical aggro they cause.
