Is this 172 barrel okay to use?

Sorry for the question, but I've been told it will run just not sure if it will last long or not. Please tell me if its okay or if not is it worth getting repaired?

 

It's a malossi 172 kit. I was looking online and that and found this: probably has nothing to do with it but yeah. Anyway, the barrel is still smooth and someone told me to wet and dry it so its even more smooth and buy a new piston and rings, I can now understand why the barrel and head cost £40.

 

Nope, its an aluminium 2 ring kit.

Someone may be interested in it. It will still run. However I won't expect people to be using it.

They might want it to practise porting or whatever LOL, I got no need for it and someone else might. Also the head can be used so.

 

i had been quated £90 for replating for a mhr rep barrel a while back maybe would be cheaper to do that

LOL this isn't a comedy forum, no need. But yeah I'm not ganna bother replating it. Say it costs £100, I still gotta buy a new piston and rings which is £80... I'd rahter spend a little more and get a brand new kit

if skint try the new cheap copy for 130 quid. see pm have even done a test on it.or i got an old malossi kit for 75 quid plus 5 'er for post

 

I'm assuming you mean the liquid cooled one? My engines air cooled.
