Is there a difference between the standard variators on a 2t Gilera 125 and 180 ?

As it says above. I thought they were different and that the 180 variators were better but have noticed some being sold as 125/180 which gives the impression that they are interchangeable.

 

They are interchangeable but they are different, the 180 has a lip/ridge on the inside of the belt face where the spacer tube fit's through.

 

Ok, a minor difference. So one doesn't perform better than the other?

 

It has been said that the 180 is as good as a malossi item when set up correctly.
