my fuel tap is the same as this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CHIENSE-SCOOT...58?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item5d26ba8bf2 i can blow through the long pipe but not suck.the small one i cant blow or suck.is this the way its meant to be,if so how the hell does it work?
i think it only uses petrol when you use throttle? as i took 1 of the pipes of it the other day and no petrol leaked from it, not 100% sure its true but thats my bet
The fuel tap operates by engine vacuum, it only issues fuel when the engine is running... There will be 2 pipes attached to the tap, 1 will be the fuel pipe, and will run from the tap to the fuel inlet union on the carburrettor....The other is the vacuum pipe. Take both pipes off the tap, and fuel should only come out the fuel pipe when you suck on the vacuum pipe...if you get a mouthful of petrol youve sucked on the wrong pipe :lol:
