OK, I brought a runner 50 a few months ago. To my knowledge, it has been de-restricted - thats all! However, my bike will do 55 - 60mph on a flat, and ive had up to 64mph down hill. I know the clock is not accurate. But surley it cannot be that far out? Is it likely to have been tuned in any way? I'm thinking of getting a Laser X Pro so I didnt want to up-jet if it already has been done, the same applies for rollers too. Would appreciate your comments on this, thanks!
clocks are reading as most piggys do.. thats 50mph m8 (there mopeds, ponly have to be accurate to 30mph and even then there usually upto 3mph out)
^^^ yep mopeds have to comply to much less strict regulations then motorcycles...this includes lights, tyres and speedos amongst others now moped speedos only have to be accurate up to 30 mph...because they arent supposed to go faster than 30 mph when you derestrict a moped and it can acheive more than 30 mph it ceases becoming a moped and becomes a small motorcycle/scooter by law!! An other wise std derestricted gilera runner 50cc will show 100kmh or 62.5mph top speed on the speedo...when its actually doing a genuine 50 mph....and yes they are that innacurate...no ifs no buts!!! i met up with a former member of Runner.net who was convinced his 50 with a pipe did a genuine 65mph..... i passed him on a long road and he became a black dot in my mirrors....later he said fuck me i was doing 65mph and you left me for dead...what speed was you doing on that 70cc..... i said oooh about 55 mate
ye it true most speedos are wrong mine used to go up to 65 on the mad mile flat out and it only a a/c nrg and that not possible now i got a 70 i reckon i should be doing that once it run in but my speedo will end up saying something stupid like 75 or what ever. when i was riding with my mate my speedo said 60 and his said 50 as he as digital clock :nerd:
