    Hiya ,
Not sure where to put this and most of you already know the answer but I don't.
As you can see in the title , I'm just wondering if it's illegal in the UK to ride on the road
    without any mirrors at all.
Even though it's probably best having at least 1 on a scooter.
    Thanks,

Nah mate, you dont NEED mirrors on a scooter, 1 small one might be beneficial though :)

    Really , that's pretty stupid ..
Gotta have L plates but mirrors aren't a problem hahah
At least I can make ped look bit better when go to handle bar conversion.
Just to sum up though ... So if I'm riding down the road past a police car with no mirrors they can't do nothing ?

I know, but this is England mate, the whole country is fucked haha....
Yeah L plates must be more important o_O silly laws , see above lol....

Handlebar conversions just make peds look so much better in my opinion.

if they pull you over, it will be to waste your time, as plenty of my mates ride peds and none of them have mirrors, as far as i know, they cant 'do you' for not having mirrors.

Fair enough , yea i know Laws are fucked up but oh well .. ha
but the conversions do look a lot better just a bit concerned about where to put the indicators when I do it.
Also wiring everything up will be a pain as well ..

according to the VOSA handbook for motorcycle MOTs, a bike needs mirrors if there is a fitting for them, but you wont fail MOT if you dont fit them. (ive read that book cover to cover)
also your side-car has to be on the right hand side unless your bike is made before 1984....

Nope you do not need mirrors, BUT if they are on the bike they must be in tact and work, not allowed to be cracked, spinning round, hanging off.

And you must be seen to be doing all your over the shoulder checks, they can do you for not looking if you dont have mirrors.

4 of us were pulled over on our 600's by one of the Scooby Police interceptors for having no mirrors, we argued that we didn't need them so they radioed threw to dispatch and cockily held the mic up and that's exactly what we heard them reading back to the officer, so they gave one guy a warning for pulling his jacket down at the back just before they pulled us over as he did not have both hands on the bars.

    Hahah , i see ..
Atleast that clears it all up .
I will probably stick 1 mirror on when I do my handle bar conversion.
