Hello Guys. I'm Callum. Hogesar, the nickname, comes from Matthew Hoggard and Monty Panesar (England Cricket Bowlers, whom depending on the type of bowl i do i apparently represent the same actions as them). Anyway, I'm 17 and studying Computing, Applied ICT, Law and History at A-Level at the moment (last year!). So as you can probably see, i'm not the mechanical type. In fact, most of the time i have no idea what i'm doing - i just follow instructions Was never going to bother with a Scooter. However, i decided to go for it when i saw a Yamaha Neos 50, 2002 reg, for £140. Went and looked over it with a mate who has some experience in scooters. Only real problem was a very rusted exhaust. Anyway - I had the exhaust replaced with quite a cheap sports exhaust (a StreetFighter...anyone have any knowledge on them by the way?) and went about de-restricting myself. Managed to get hold of a variator locking tool so the de-restriction was pretty simple. The Neos is currently not rideable, as the thread on my shaft for the Nut wore away, and came right loose. So front part of variator is the part i am waiting to be delivered. Decided to get new rollers, mine were practically square. I'm more bothered about top end than acceleration oddly, as my commute is National Speed Limit B Roads to college and work mostly. So i bought 7gram rollers (stock being 6.5g). Big mistake? I dunno, i'll found out! In terms of the thread on the shaft, i used a Die nut to re-thread it. When i put it all back together i'm gonner be using some of that Loctite i think! Anyway, long introduction. But Hey
Haha thanks! I realised that's what it might have been - it's the one thing i forgot to do when following some online video guide! Anyway, it still went 35 with a wobbling, moving variator and square rollers, which was impressive (until i took it apart and realised what had happened )
