In San Diego, CA I pay about $130 U.S. dollars for insurance. Our system is different a bit. My scooter is covered for loss up to $1000 Collision covers the other guy up to $300,000 U.S. My personal medical coverage is up to $300,000 U.S. Legally I could eliminate the scooter coverage and the medical and pay about $50/year U.S. I value my bones a little more. That totally sucks mate.!., I'm middle aged, full clean licence- that would probaly cost me X10 that amount for a nice Zip,3rd party only. .
I live in the middle of nowhere in Lincolnshire lol.. Was still very surprised at the price when I got the quote though
I live dead centre-ish in the City of London, mid 40's,full(clean) licence- cost me £220.00.3rd party, for a Honda Melody..
They must have some gauged rating system, whatever it is,it's certainely twisted- got quoted £70 less for a c90.!.
I used to live in Los Angeles, Los Feliz district. Highest insurance rates in the U.S. I paid 5X what I currently pay. Some places just cost too damn much to live. I moved 15 miles, and saved hundreds. I guess you pay extra to live on the same block as Boris Karloff's old house. Not worth it to me, I left the district.
My insurance now,for a 100 tpft,is almost X3 more than it was nearly 30 years ago at 18,out in the country.ouch.
Could be worse,g/f thought she was up the spout other day(nope, phewww),mighta had me a teenager,by the the time I hit that..
Does seem to vary a lot. I'm 52 ride a 50cc sym symply. Paid £61 for bog standard tpf&t. My 10 years no claims on a car didn't count so I'm starting from scratch. Excess for fire and theft £350! Scooter only cost me £1500 new so not a lot in the big scheme of things. Wonder what I'll pay this year?
Sammo, had to start completly from scratch/self,offtr for well over a decade- and not in the most condusive address to get insurance either/central London. .
