speedfight 2 100cc 2001 Here is some pictures of the drive belt and other things in the tranny case ( im still learning the names about parts but i know what most of them do) well id like to know if i need new parts or some adivce, my bike runs not bad does about 60mph although some times at about 50-60 it makes a rattley noise, i know / think its the picture below *tranny pic 1* the 1 with the spikes on it as you can see the blades are bent a bit from hitting the tranny case, is this normal over a period of time? or .... http://www.2shared.com/photo/_AoOhG6b/tranny_pic_1.html http://www.2shared.com/photo/HXlpDtu3/tranny_pic_2.html http://www.2shared.com/photo/vHckjbts/tranny_pic_3.html http://www.2shared.com/photo/a6gspc1J/tranny_pic_4.html http://www.2shared.com/photo/CPphBqYg/tranny_pic_5.html http://www.2shared.com/photo/Ty-4hS-b/tranny_pic_6.html http://www.2shared.com/photo/2xHO2OQn/tranny_pic_7.html http://www.2shared.com/photo/zARoxl01/tranny_pic_8.html
all looks fine to me mate, rattley noise could be anything even somthing stupid like your stand boucing from vibration. if its not broke dont fix it
yea looks all fine , as sammy sed it coule be the main stand vibrating on the engine case check the rubber make sure it's still in good shape. looking at your pics you might wanna think about replacing the drive belt looks a bit frayed and going by the belt dust in the engine case seen better days. this can rectifie the ereguler speed , takes around 100 miles for the belt to perform at it's max though, check the vario weights aswell these factor in the speed if they have a flat spot worn on them :good:
There is a good bit of belt dust in the case, is there sport belts i could get or are they all the same? ebay is the place if u can find any, any1 thanks
ahhh nvm i know what the weights are now just seen a pic so for taking the belt of whats the best way?
vario weights.. fancey name for rollers you will find them in the variator. and yeah to get the belt of youll need to remove that nut, might need an impact wrench to get it of as they can be a pain.
yea buy a sports belt , something like a pollini kevlar or malossi kevlar they have a very good wear rate on those!! yup the rollers are inside there if you have a impact gun it's easy to take the nut off, otherwise it can be a pain with out a vario holding tool.. if you do try id reccomend opening the pulleys at the back of the engine so the belt drops in so it keeps the belt slack reducing the chance of the vario jumpin off the crank!
if you can hold the vario securly you maybe able to get it undone. careful you dont round the nut of though then it's a job for a garage
oh yea forgot about that, i was thinking the bolt just comes out easy, ill get some1 to hold it with something or if that dont work ill just take it to the garage and just ask if he can losen it and then tigten it ill do the rest
now this is not atall the right way to do it atall lol, but somtimes it will work. if u put a skrew driver into the back on the engine case and jam it in the teeth of the disc like in the pics above it will stop it from spinning and u will be able to undo the nut with a spanner, only thing is u may lose a few of the teeth... or a finger lol
if some 1 can hold it, it is possible to undo. if it's never been removed it will most likely be held on pretty damn tight due to heat and locktight on the thread, make sure they use a heavy duty glove of some sorts. if you have a local bike/scooter shop near by you could ask if they have a vario holding tool to buy or ebay will have one , there not exspensiv and come in handy loads of times for future use
