inside the kickstart casing , isit seized ( dont know name )

    hi there sorry again i just checked my piaggio zip i took the kickstart casing off and the spiky round thing on the left that the belt goes round does not move i mean it is really stiff but my piston , barrel etc are not seized it looks as if this is what starts the bike when kicked over but its stiff so anyone have any ideas on what it could be if you could give a clear explanation plz thank you guys so much :nerd:

    first is it 2 or 4 stroke????i take it you have opened the bore???????? if not and the fly wheel isnt moving its either the bore siezed or the main bearings have siezed....... or the magnito side maybe a bit ov metal is stuck in there........ could be a few things bruv

    hi its a 2 stroke i have taken out my cylinder and it is fine so i dont think thats the problem m8 how do i go about fitting main bearings if you think thats the problem cheers :nerd:

    take the magnito and coils out then take the fly wheel and belt and veriator besicaly get all the parts off the crank and see if it spins if i dont the get hold of MINOR he might be able to sort you out but i wouldnt try the bearings if i was you!!!!!

    boy say no more bruv............. you need a mechanic or you will end up with a nice zip frame with no engine..........

    yup, sopunds like its had main bearing failure, new crank and mainbearings minimum.. if theres nobody decent near you can always post it (didnt even look where you live)

    crank moves freely m8 so you reckon its the main bearings , how much would that set me back cheers :beer:

    if the crank moves freely then its fine.. if the kickstart doesent move wd40 it up till it runs free then re grease.. if the spring is out or the thing is siezed stiff its gonna be a pain to sort (to the inexperienced) if the kickstart mech and throwout gear are fine theres no reason the kick shouldent work.. can see the throwout gear/starter pinion/bendix for the starter motor under the variator beside the oil pump, this you should be able to bearly spin by hand (past it turning/moving outwards obviously) the bendix should rotate frely in one direciton, then move outwards to lock and turn the starter motor in another (clockwise)

    hi manor thanks for reply basically the kickstart casing when off moves freely but when on it is completely stiff and the flywheel is stiff

    also is the crank the thing my piston sits on? if so that moves up and down freely so if you could please give me a rough idea of what the problem is and how much it would set me back it would be greatly appreciated thanks so much :beer:

    if the crank spins theres fuck all up with the bearings (well, not enough wrong wiht them for this to happen) whoever told you this is plain chatting you up for work.. that or your explaning things poorly. if the piston go's up and down the crank isnt seized, if the thing still dont spin with the cover on youve simply put somthing in wrong.

    LOL I THINK he means the conrod moves up and down but the actual crank doesnt spin.. just expliained it badlyyy

    hi minor hi rideorcollide basically when i took my bore off i can see the piston and i can lift it up and down i havent tried to move it any other ways any ideas tnx :rofl:

    Try pushing the piston in to the engine........ like how it would move in the bore!!!!!!! stop wigglin it about :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: spin the bloody crank!!!!!!!!!!!

    hi i just went and tried to push the piston in the bike i even tried to pull it out lightly and no movement it only goes up and down and my flywheel does not move so does anyone know whats wrong with the bike cheers
